Error codes
CPF11 to CPF14 and CPF16 to CPF19
Fault name : Control Circuit Error.
Cause1 : There is a self-diagnostic error in the control circuit.
Possible solution : Cycle power to the drive
If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact a DMEB Service technician for help.
Cause2 : Connector on the operator is damaged.
Possible solution : Send your drive to DMEB Service for repair
OV
Fault name : Overvoltage
Voltage in the DC bus has exceeded the overvoltage detection level.
• For 200 V class: approximately 410 V
• For 400 V class: approximately 820 V (740 V when E1-01 is less than 400)
Cause 1 : Deceleration time is too short and regenerative energy flows from the motor into the drive.
Possible solution:
- Increase the deceleration time (C1-02, C1-04).
- Install a braking resistor or a dynamic braking resistor unit.
- Set L3-04 to 1 to enable stall prevention during deceleration.
Cause 2 : Stall prevention is enabled as the default setting.
Excessive braking load. The braking torque was too high, causing regenerative energy to charge the DC bus.
Possible solution : Reduce the braking torque, use a braking option, or lengthen decel time.
Cause 3 : Surge voltage entering from the drive input power.
Possible solution : Install a DC link choke.
Note: Voltage surge can result from thyristor convertor and phase advancing capacitor using same drive
main input power supply.
Cause 4 : Ground fault in the output circuit causing the DC bus capacitor to overcharge.
Possible solution :
- Check the motor wiring for ground faults.
- Correct grounding shorts and turn the power back on.
Cause 5 : Excessive regeneration when overshoot occurs after acceleration.
Solution : Lengthen the S-curve at acceleration end.
Cause 6 : Drive input power voltage is too high.
Possible solution :
- Check the voltage.
- Lower drive input power voltage within the limits listed in the specifications.
Cause 7 : The dynamic braking transistor is damaged. Inspect the drive at DMEB.
Cause 8 : The braking transistor is wired incorrectly.
Possible solution :
- Check braking transistor wiring for errors.
- Properly rewire the braking resistor device.
Cause 9: Drive fails to operate properly due to noise interference.
Possible solution :
- Review the list of possible solutions provided for controlling noise.
- Review the section on handling noise interference and check the control circuit lines, main circuit lines and ground wiring.
Cause 10 : Motor hunting occurs.
Possible solution :
- Adjust the parameters that control hunting.
- Set the hunting prevention gain (n1-02).
Cause 11 : Hardware problem
If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact a DMEB Service technician for help.

Fault name : Output Phase Loss

Phase loss on the output side of the drive.

Setting L8-07 to 1 or 2 enables Phase Loss Detection.
Cause1 : The output cable is disconnected
Possible solution : Check for wiring errors and properly connect the output cable.
Connect the wiring.
Cause2 : The motor winding is damaged
Possible solution : Check the resistance between motor lines
Replace the motor if the winding is damaged.
Cause3 : The output terminal is loose
Possible solution : Apply the tightening torque specified in the manual to fasten the terminals. Refer to Main Circuit Wire Gauges and Tightening Torques on page 129 for details.
Cause4 : The rated current of the motor being use is less than 5% of the drive rated current.
Possible solution : Check the drive selection and motor capacities.
Cause5 : An output transistor is damaged.
Possible solution : If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact DMEB Service for more informations.
Cause6 : A sigle-phase motor is being used.
Possible solution : the drive cannot operate a single phase motor

Fault name : Dynamic Braking Transistor
The built-in dynamic braking transistor failed.
Cause1 : The braking transistor is damaged.
Possible solution : Cycle power to the drive and check for reoccurence of the fault.
Replace either the control board or the entire drive. For instructions on replacing the control board, contact us.
